About
Hi. I'm Scott.
I've built software for cellular networks, stormwater systems, credit bureaus, barbershops, farmers markets, social science researchers, and educators. My career has covered a lot of ground — Fortune 500 companies, the EPA, startups at 1871, a non-profit, and my own thing. I've spent a long time in a lot of different rooms.
I'm also aggressively Chicago. I've been building open-source civic tech around the city's data for years — its beaches, its rainfall, its river, its lake. In another life I might've been a historian or a writer. I haven't ruled either out for this one yet.
The Beslow Company exists because this is the work I keep finding myself doing anyway.
Outside of the work: lead dad, runner, reader, tennis player, and an embarrassing amount of Chicago history.
